Itinerary for 2017 Annual Exhibit & Symposium

Schedule Of Events



26TH ANNUAL JURIED EXHIBITION

May 1 to  July 15th, 2017 – Intake will take place for our 26th Annual Juried Exhibition through the online site “CafĂ©”.      

Fee for members $30.00 - you may enter 2 pieces, only one can be accepted

A Discount Coupon Code for 43% off the $70.00 will be sent via email.

Fee for non-members $70.00 - you may enter 2 pieces, only one can be accepted

Mandatory with entry – each artist is to explain why their           artwork is experimental to them in the description area.

May 1 to August 23, 2017 -  Early Bird Discount sign up for symposium starts       on line.  Fees must be paid at time of sign up.  Workshop space is limited

July 31, 2017 – Jurying is to be completed – By Jade Dellinger

August 10, 2017 – Artists will be notified via email of the results.

September 26 through 30 – Artwork shipped to BigArts, Sanibel, FL.

              Hand Delivery September 29 from 9 am to noon

              Boxes will be handled by a shipping firm. 

Handling fee of $25.00 will be paid by check to BigArts and sent in the shipping box with your artwork.

October 2, 2017 – Exhibit Opens  

AWARDS WILL BE JURIED  by Oct. 3.

10:00 am BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING @ PHILLIPS GALLERY – BIGARTS Center

12:00 Noon SYMPOSIUM REGISTRATION - SUNDIAL RESORT

5-6:30 pm MEET AND GREET OPENING RECEPTION - SUNDIAL RESORT LOUNGE  (cash bar, light appetizers.)


TUESDAY, OCTOBER 24TH

9am- 4pm ANNIE MORGAN WORKSHOP at BIGARTS Center – 2nd Floor Studio

12:00 noon lunch included & delivered

Choose from Regular, Vegan or Gluten Free - on Registration Form


WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 25TH

9:00am – 4:00pm ANNIE MORGAN WORKSHOP - continued

12:00 noon lunch included and delivered

9:30am-2:30mp  TOUR RAUSCHENBERG GALLERY & GALLERY AT THE  ALLIANCE                                             

Includes a tour of the Rauschenberg Gallery and The Gallery At The Alliance for the Arts.  Lunch at Christofs with individual tabs.  


THURSDAY, OCTOBER 26th

9:00am BOAT TOUR TO USEPPA ISLAND   (40 people maximum)

Useppa Island is on the historic registry and is a private island with a deep Indian history as well as having served as a navy post during the civil war and as a training facility for the Bay of Pigs invasion.  

We will also tour the small Calusa Museum while there.  It is a small hike on a dirt road to the museum and the Collier Inn where we will be having a buffet luncheon.  

Those who would like to rent a golf cart (4 to a cart) may do so at an extra cost of $10 per person per hour.  Golf carts must be reserved at time of registration.  The boat is due back to Captiva by 3:00 pm and we should arrive back at the hotel by 3:30 pm

LUNCH BUFFET:  Caprese Salad, Antipasta Display, Grilled Vegetable Panini, Italian Deli Meat Panini, Focaccia Bread with Mascarpone and Berries. Ice Tea, Lemonade and fountain drinks.  Alcohol is extra.

TRANSPORTATION: Van to and from the hotel to Captiva

On your own tour of quaint shops and restaurants in the River District

Catalogs will be available during the Symposium for sale $20.00 each and for our membership to pick up.  Welcome bags will be available for all artists who paid the registration for the symposium.

November 30, 2017 – Exhibit ends and work will be returned within the following week to the exhibiting artists.
