As President of ISEA my responsibility is to provide leadership and direction for our membership. I work with the board to provide quality exhibitions, symposiums and publications.
1ST VICE PRESIDENT (COMMUNICATIONS/MEMBERSHIP)
The 1st Vice President IS THE LEGAL REGISTERED AGENT FOR THE ISEA CORPORATION, collects postal mail, email and voice mail and disperses those communications to the appropriate board members. Responsibilities include sending letters, invitations and dues reminders to ISEA members WHO HAVE NO ELECTRONIC MEANS OF COMMUNICATION and answering questions for the membership as they arise.
2nd VICE PRESIDENT (PUBLICITY)
The 2nd Vice President is responsible for the publicity and public relations of the society. The 2nd VP submits the International Exhibition “Call for Entries” to national magazines and oversees distribution of flyers for the Annual Symposium.
3rd VICE PRESIDENT (COMMUNICATIONS)
The Newsletter Chairperson gathers the ISEA current events, photos, awards and articles for publication three or four times a year. Duties include design and layout of the on-line newsletter plus editing material, correcting copy and preparing the content for black-and-white printing and mailing. The editor interfaces with the printing company and the mailing house if this is desired. As FaceBook Chair information is posted 3 times per week. It includes artwork from exhibits, state and country liaison information.
The primary responsibility of the 4th VP is to research and secure future exhibition and symposiums locations.
The Website Chairperson helps with keeping our website updated, posts information needed for entering exhibits, helps generate Newsletters to be sent via email, and sets up links to paypal, Cafe', etc. as needed.
The Treasurer assists the President in preparing a budget, receives and records revenue, pays Board-approved bills, reports monthly financial activity, prepares a year-end report and submits records for audit and tax preparation.
The Recording Secretary is to be present at each Board meeting to record the minutes and send them in a timely manner to all Board Members and regional reps. In addition, the secretary retains a copy of the by-laws at the meeting and is familiar enough with them to serve as an advisor to the Board when actions seem to be in conflict. The secretary updates the Nominating Committee handbook annually.
CHAIRPERSON – INTAKE OF ART FOR ONLINE MEMBERS ONLY & ANNUAL JURIED EXHIBITIONS
The Intake Chairperson processes and records all entries for the Annual Exhibition and the All-Member Exhibition.
Mary Ann Beckwith
The Executive Director is an advisor to the board members. She assists the board with questions and concerns regarding exhibits, venues, and recommending jurors. The board can also refer to her expertise in finding candidates. Finally, she can offer assistance to the board in setting up workshops and demos given during our symposiums.
This Committee plans all parts of the Annual Symposium including making all arrangements for hotels, facilities, Annual Members Award Dinner, Receptions, Classes, Demonstrations, Registrations, etc. They are available on site throughout the Symposium.

The committee oversees printed communications to the public and the membership (excluding Newsletter). They obtain competitive bids for printing and oversee the completion of these documents. This committee coordinates with Membership/Communications Director to distribute printed material.

This committee acquires the awards for the Annual Exhibition, assists the awards juror when selecting the award paintings, ships awards to winning artists unable to attend presentation, and sends exhibition catalog and thank-you letters to all donors.
