25th Annual Juried Experimental Art Exhibit
Antonio Masi, juror statement:|
To paraphrase the French artist Georges Braque, who was at the Forefront of the revolutionary art movement of cubism, when asked, ‘What is Abstract Art?’ His reply was…”abstract art is what the mind sees but the eye doesn’t.”
The 25th ISEA Annual Exhibition, requires that one have an open, inquiring and thoughtful mind. Art created with the mind brings forth thought provoking, self-questioning beliefs and at the same time beautiful tactile surfaces.
The paintings have a wide range of approaches in the handling of the tools, mediums and surfaces. The rich surface textures, the strong emotional expressiveness, and the unique incorporation of everyday items all contribute to making this a very exciting exhibition.
My congratulations to all the artists for their wonderful thought provoking and beautiful pieces of art.
